OC FAIR: RBS Certification Deadline June 15, 2026
The Courtyard at the OC Fair is the OCWS’s largest fundraiser of the year that runs for 23 days, Wednesdays through Sundays, from July 17 through August 16. Volunteering at The Courtyard is a fun and unique experience! The Fair requires all volunteers handling wine—including managers, stewards, and servers—to be RBS (Responsible Beverage Server) certified through ABC (Alcohol Beverage Control). Cashiers are not required to be RBS certified.
EMAIL US – To get started, just email Sue England and Linda Flemins at at RBS@ocws.org to get your RBS certification started or to find out if you need to renew your certification.
THREE-STEP PROCESS – More detailed instructions will be sent to you when you register.
1. Create an RBS account with Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC).
2. Take the online, self-paced course through the RBS provider that OCWS has selected.
3. Take a final quiz with ABC online and obtain the ABC certification, which is valid for three years. You are now ready to serve in the courtyard at the OC Fair.
ONLINE CLASS: Once you send your certification request to Sue England, you’ll be enrolled in the Premiere course. New participants will receive an email to create an account and a second email with the course link; renewals will receive only the course link email. The self-paced online course includes a 30-question prep test, followed by a 50-question exam on the ABC website. Once certified, you’re ready to serve at the OC Fair Courtyard. When registering with ABC each OCWS member must use their own individual email address for the system.
PLEASE NOTE – Each OCWS member will need a valid individual email address that will be used to set up your account. Your own individual email address will be your username for the online system. Thank you so much for your volunteer efforts. You are what makes the OCWS the great success it is.
DEADLINE: Please note that the deadline to complete your RBS certification and submit screenshot proof is June 15, 2026. Certifications not completed by that date will result in shifts being unable to be confirmed.
