DESCRIPTION:The OCWS In-Person Wine Auction is one of the most anticipated events of the year and the second-largest fundraiser for the Orange County Wine Society. Held each spring\, this signature event helps us make room in our cellar for the upcoming 2026 OC Fair Commercial Wine Competition and Wine Courtyard while directly supporting OCWS’s educational mission. \nProceeds from the Wine Auction fund OCWS educational programming for members and the public throughout the year\, as well as our highly regarded OCWS Scholarship Program. Through this program\, we support students at eight California institutions offering degrees in enology\, viticulture\, and culinary arts—and this year we proudly surpassed $1 million in total scholarship donations since 1981. The auction is also a valuable member benefit\, offering the opportunity to purchase award-winning wines from last year’s competition at well below retail prices. \nEvent Details – In-Person Auction\n• Saturday\, April 18\, 2026\n• 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM\n• OC Fair & Event Center – Huntington Beach Building \nIf you’ve never attended\, the OCWS Wine Auction is a must-do experience. Enjoy a full day of exceptional wines from our cellar\, a wide array of appetizers\, entrées\, and desserts\, and the excitement of live and silent bidding—all in support of a cause you care about. Please note that early checkout is not available\, so plan to stay until 6:00 PM. This year\, our new Point of Sale system will make checkout faster and more efficient than ever. \nThe in-person auction will showcase more than 900 wine lots and winery and food experiences\, with each wine lot consisting of four bottles offered through either silent or live auction formats. SUMMARY:Wine Auction – Restock Your Wine Cellars!
DESCRIPTION:The OCWS Wine Auction is our second biggest fundraiser of the year. It is a chance for us to clear out our wine cellar in preparation for the 2025 OC Fair Commercial Wine Competition and Wine Courtyard. As a nonprofit organization\, we rely on the auction to also help us fund educational programming for our members and the public at the OC Fair and to support our scholarship program\, which provides scholarships for eight California educational institutions with degrees in enology\, viticulture and culinary arts. The auction is also a benefit of your OCWS membership because it gives you the unique opportunity to restock your cellar and purchase wines from last year’s competition at a fraction of the retail price. \nThe 2025 Wine Auction is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday\, April 19 at the OC Fair and Event Center in the Huntington Beach building. If you have never attended this event\, we can’t recommend it enough. Enjoy the afternoon with lots of wine and food to enjoy during the day and the opportunity to support the OCWS. We have over 1\,000 lots of wine (four bottles together) in both silent and verbal auction opportunities. In addition to the auction lots\, mystery boxes of wine will be available for purchase. This event provides you with the unique opportunity to fill your wine cellar with wines from the 2021 OC Fair Commercial Wine Competition. You can buy wines at a fraction of the retail price in both silent and verbal lots to support the OCWS and its educational programming! Tickets are only $20 for this MEMBERS ONLY event. Sign-up to attend and to volunteer on the OCWS website. \nThis year’s event will take place at the OC Fair & Event Center in the Huntington Beach building (adjacent to The Wine Courtyard).
