SUMMARY:Holiday Dinner & Dance - Let's Party Like It's 1927
DESCRIPTION:Psst… we know a place. \nThe password is OCWS\, the wine is flowing\, and we’re turning back the clock 100 years for an evening inspired by the Roaring 20s. \nJoin us Saturday\, January 9\, as the OCWS Holiday Dinner & Dance transforms the Hilton Costa Mesa into the OCWS speakeasy. We’re kicking off 2027 by partying like it’s 1927—with great wine\, fabulous food\, music\, dancing and plenty of OCWS friends. \nAnd this year\, we’re back at the Hilton Costa Mesa—the same hotel many of you know as the home of our annual Commercial Wine Competition. \n Step Inside the Speakeasy \nSlip through the doors and start the evening with sparkling wine and an assortment of hors d’oeuvres before settling in for a multi-course plated dinner accompanied by hand-selected wines from the OCWS cellar. \nAfter dinner\, our DJ will get the dance floor jumping with favorite music from across the decades. Between dances\, stop by our 1920s-inspired photo booth\, have a complimentary keepsake photo taken by the OCWS Photography Committee or find a quieter spot to relax over a glass of wine and conversation. \n 1920s attire is encouraged\, but certainly not required. Flappers\, gangsters\, bootleggers\, dapper gents\, glamorous dames—or simply your favorite party attire—are all welcome. So dust off the pearls\, find that fedora and get ready to have some fun. \n Dinner Menu \n\nSparkling Wine & Appetizers\nSouthern Pimento cheese | Pita crisp | Crunchy capers\nGrilled chicken salad | Tarragon aioli | Candied pecans | Endive cups\nGluten-Free/Dairy-Free Option: Melon & Prosciutto\nSalad – Mixed greens\, radish\, cucumbers\, cherry tomatoes\, shredded carrots\, herb croutons\, chive sticks\, cucumber basil vinaigrette\nEntrée — Choice of:\n\nChicken – Grilled breast of chicken\, garlic Parmesan whipped potatoes\, buttered broccolini\, baby bell peppers\, lemon thyme jus\nBeef – 10-Hour red wine braised beef short rib\, sour cream whipped potatoes\, buttered baby carrots\, caramelized pearl onions\, pan gravy\nVegetarian – Ricotta and spinach mushroom rolled lasagna\, spinach\, ricotta\, roasted Portabella mushroom\, basil roasted\, tomato-infused sauce\n\n\nDessert – Chocolate ganache tart\, whipped cream\, chocolate wafer\n\nWine\, coffee and iced tea are included. \n  $99 Members / $109 Guests \nYour evening includes the sparkling wine reception and appetizers\, plated dinner\, OCWS wines\, music and dancing\, tax\, tip and parking. \nWant to make a night of it? We’ll add information about a special OCWS Hilton room rate as soon as it is available. \n Can You Keep a Secret? \nThere may be a few surprises waiting behind the doors of the OCWS Speakeasy. After all\, a good speakeasy never reveals everything in advance. \nOnce registration opens\, you’ll also be able to reserve a table with friends after purchasing your event reservations through the OCWS website. \nSo gather your favorite partners in crime\, polish your dancing shoes and get ready to raise a glass to friendship\, wine and a brand-new year. \nCarolyn Christian\, Event Chair
