DESCRIPTION:Great deals on award-winning wines are in your near future! \nGoing once\, going twice…it is almost here!  The annual OCWS Wine Auction is just a few weeks away. Join us on Saturday\, April 23\,  for a fun day of wine\, food\, and bidding for a great cause! This event provides you with the unique opportunity to fill your wine cellar with wines from the 2021 OC Fair Commercial Wine Competition. You can buy wines at a fraction of the retail price in both silent and verbal lots to support the OCWS and its educational programming! Tickets are only $20 for this MEMBERS ONLY event. Sign-up to attend and to volunteer on the OCWS website. \nThis year’s event will take place at the OC Fair & Event Center in the Huntington Beach building (adjacent to The Wine Courtyard). Attendees are encouraged to bring pens\, a wine glass\, folding chair\, and comfortable walking shoes. The Auction catalogue will be available both online and in hard copy a few weeks before the event. DESCRIPTION:“Cheers to the Holidays!”\nMark your calendars\, dust off your semi-formal attire\, put on your dancing shoes\, and join us for our first Holiday Dinner & Dance in two years!  The OCWS is pleased to announce that the 2021 OCWS Holiday Dinner Dance will be held on Saturday\, December 4th at the DoubleTree by Hilton on MacArthur Boulevard near the 55 Freeway\, in Santa Ana. \nJoin us for an evening that starts with sparkling wine and passed hors d’eouvres followed by an amazing sit-down dinner. \nDinner Menu \nSalad: \nMesculin Greens\, Cucumber\, Artichoke\, Tomato\,\nCarrot\, Sherry Vinaigrette \nYour Choice of Entrée: \nGrilled Chicken Breast\, Roasted Red Pepper Sauce\nAssorted Vegetables\, Potato \nPetit Filet Mignon (6 ounces)\, Roasted Garlic Demi\nAssorted Vegetables\, Potato \nVegetable Napoleon (Fire Roasted Vegetables\, Portobello Mushroom\, Polenta\, Balsamic Reduction) \nDessert: \nDouble Chocolate Cake \nA variety of wines will be provided by the OCWS\, but you are welcome to bring your own bottle to share (corkage is included). \nNew this year:  Reserved table with 8 confirmed attendees using this Form. \nAfter dinner\, be ready to dance the night away to a variety of tunes by “Three 2 Seven.” Even if you do not want to dance\, there will be plenty of your OCWS friends to visit with and toast the holidays! This event is also a great opportunity to take great photos of you and your OCWS friends in your holiday best! \nThe cost of this 4-course meal\, wine\, and live music is an amazing $95 for members ($110 for guests)\, with a $5 per vehicle discounted rate for parking. \nThe DoubleTree is also offering an unbelievable Special Room Rate of $109 per night with free Internet and a discounted self-parking rate of $12 (usually $22). \nAs always\, we will be collecting unwrapped toys and gifts for children to support the Costa Mesa Fire Department’s “Spark of Love” drive which benefits needy children in Costa Mesa. SUMMARY:2021 OCWS Wine Auction
DESCRIPTION:This is a member only event.  Please plan to stay for the entire event.  No early checkout is available\nA printed copy of the Bid Catalog will be available the week before the auction.   \nMark your calendars! We will be having our annual Wine Auction at a special time this year\, on Saturday\, October 16 from 11 am to 5 pm in the Costa Mesa Building of the OC Fair & Event Center. Don’t miss this great opportunity to fill up your wine cellar at some great prices!  This event replaces the 2020 Wine Auction which was scheduled for April 2020 and had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. The Auction will feature the wines from the 2019 OC Fair Commercial Wine Competition\, which have been stored in a temperature and humidity controlled cellar since June 2019. \nThe Wine Auction features both silent and verbal auction lots from some of the best wines submitted for the Commercial Wine Competition. Enjoy an afternoon of delicious food and wine with your OC Wine Society friends as you bid on your favorite varietals and wineries. Special lots will also be available for purchase without having to bid. \nThis is your annual opportunity to purchase these wines at a fraction of their retail value. Tickets are only $20 per member for this members-only event!  We recommend that you bring your own wine glass and pens and wear comfortable shoes. Please plan to stay for the entire event\, as we cannot accommodate early checkouts! We will be adding a new type of checkout through online payment this year to help speed up the process (the standard check and credit card checkout will still be available). Interested in volunteering for this event? Watch the weekly reminders for upcoming volunteer opportunities for the Wine Auction. \nPlease note that this event will be following the COVID protocols outlined by the OC Fair and Event Center. All attendees should be either vaccinated or have a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the event. We ask those who are showing any symptoms or have been exposed to someone who has had COVID within the two weeks prior to the event not to attend.
