Many of you may have noticed that there is a new method used to sign up for OCWS events. This new procedure was instituted to insure the security of your credit card number when you sign up for an event on-line.
If you have a credit card on file and sign up for an event using that method, nothing has changed. However, if you prefer to enter your credit card number while signing up for the event, you will be transferred to PayPal, our partner in secure credit card processing.
Although using a PayPal account is a secure method for purchasing products and event requests, you are not required to have a PayPal account. Members can use a regular credit or debit card on PayPal with the same high level of security provided to PayPal accounts. When you sign up for an event and do not select “credit card on file”, you will be transferred to the page shown below. If you wish to use a personal credit card rather than a PayPal account, simply click on the “Continue” link. You will then be able to use your credit card and PayPal will process the payment utilizing their system, providing increased security.
